SCM.289 E-commerce and Omnichannel Fulfillment Strategies

In this class students explore the main challenges in omnichannel fulfillment and how the growth of e-commerce is transforming the supply chain, warehouse, and fulfillment operations. Dr. Eva Ponce broadens the perspective beyond forward supply chains and covers circular retail, commercial returns, and omnichannel fulfillment challenges. We bring insights from our research and interactions with the industry to the class. The ultimate goal is to prepare our SCM grads to face the current challenges in omnichannel fulfillment that are currently impacting the industry. This course will explore critical trends and initiatives in supply chains, with a special focus on fulfillment operations and warehouses, and the technologies and innovations that are transforming supply chain operations.

The MITx MicroMasters® Program in Supply Chain Management helps learners gain expertise in the growing field of Supply Chain Management through an innovative online program consisting of five courses and a final comprehensive exam. The MicroMasters is an advanced, professional, graduate-level foundation in Supply Chain Management. The program is an advanced, professional, graduate-level foundation in Supply Chain Management. It represents the equivalent of one semester’s worth of coursework at MIT. There is no formal enrollment in the credential, and there are no prerequisites to join. MIT Supply Chain Management Master's Programs
